I can use a jig saw

Dress up

The kids and I went to the mall today to get my earrings sent off for repair. Leah and Axel found the accessories section. Hopefully when Axel runs for president these photos aren't leaked by the competition.

My Virtual House

With 4 days until closing I am going house crazy. HGTV is plays round the clock, I am surrounded by stacks of books on design, color, and window coverings, and I bore everyone to tears with talk of contractors and painting schemes. Enter Plan3D, the home design software! Now I am glued to the laptop, drawing rooms that will (I hope) eventually exist. Anyone who has ever actually moved furniture around the room in dozens of configurations, stopping only for a visit to the chiropractor, will appreciate the value of this easy to use software. Leah as Patriot Margaret Corban- (My) Grandma Borden Would be So Proud!

Today was the 4th grade wax museum at Leah's school. They each dress up as a patriot from the Revolution- Leah was in Europe when the class was assigned patriots so she got Margaret Corban. Ask the Rubber Chickenator for more about Mrs. Corban. We bought this outfit for $3 at the Salvation Army. Axel made himself at home near a box of balls. Leah enjoyed having Axel visit her in school. He flirted with her friends.

Reefer Magnets

My Mom and Dad are coming out in April to check out the new house. Though decorating suggestions from house guests can be faux pas, this is hilarious. Dad pulled a picture of the new kitchen off a real estate website and photo shopped in personalized fridge magnets. Love you Dad!

Leah's New Bike...

... is so cool that dad stole it for a joyride. Special thanks to Dara's (Leah's best friend) dad from University Bicycles for helping us pick one out!

Spill the Love

Leah and I rode bikes to the realtor today to drop off papers. Then we stopped by Safeway for some supermarket sushi and a passion iced tea. Some of the tea spilled into a heart shape so I took a picture. Leah said the whole scenario reminded her of a cell phone commercial where a guy took pictures of heart shapes with his phone and sent them to his girlfriend. Maybe I'll email this to Jon...

New House

We are under contract on this house and close on 2/28. Yay!!! The house inspected well - solid structure, good drainage away from the basement (we're on a small hill), newer roof, newer heating unit that is 90% efficient, and energy efficient features such as double storm windows.

New Trike

Today Leah and I bought a new tricycle for Axel. We picked him up at the Children's Alley and found him at the head of a table of dining toddlers. Then we went home so Axel could ride his new toy to the park.

Axel is a Good Little Sleeper

Today during the home inspection at our new house Axel fell asleep on the floor while watching the Teletubbies on the laptop. Couldn't help but take a pic...

Happy Valentine's Day

Grandma Robbin sent a great kit for Leah to assemble homemade Valentine's cards. Emma helped Leah while the grown-ups had cocktails and Aunt Elisabeth's delicious bar snacks.

Axel's First Day

Axel was enrolled at Patience Montessori this morning and will be attending two days a week.

Axel's Squirrel

This squirrel chased Axel around the park until Axel screamed like a little girl. I don't think it was rabid but we left anyway. I didn't use zoom to take the picture, this was a domesticated squirrel.

Back in SoBo

Today Axel visited his old stomping grounds: the play area at Harlow Platts park in South Boulder. We put an offer on a house a few blocks from here and will hear back today at 5pm.
