Leah and Axel Do Laps of the Living Room on the Mater Push Toy

Fried Chicken TKO

Axel passes out at dinner. Again. I tell him to nap but you can't keep a 2 year old down if they don't wanna. Darn this chicken's good. Finger-lickin. Hey, I though it was turkeys that make you pass out. Out cold. From restaurant to carseat to bed, never woke up until the next morning.

Potty Humor

My bathroom floor has been a chipped, gross, particle board sub floor for a week now. Today a carpenter installed the new sub floor and I can't stop admiring it. You know your bathroom has been bad for too long when the new sub floor makes you swoon.

Avery Brabant

Warning- beer post. If you're not into fancy beer this will be boring. Tonight we attended the realease party of the Avery Brewing Brabant Ale. So now Brabant is a beer as well as a territory in the European lowlands and a draft horse. We bought six Brabants; five for the cellar and one to taste. A great with-food beer, maybe wild game or hearty soup. It is somewhat sour, dark as night, and smells of the oak wine barrels in which it was aged. The flavor was almost herby- like tarragon. It wasn't fruity and syrupy like alot of 8-9% dark ales I've had. The head was carmel colored and not super creamy. But it wasn't fizzy either and stuck around for the whole drink. It could be rejuvenated with swirling. Thanks Adam Avery et al for bringing great beer culture to Boulder. See you at the Strong Ale Fest next weekend!

Chicken and Waffles

+ + + = Dinner It was good. I should have taken a photo before digging in, but tonight I had the best chicken and waffles at West End Tavern. Yum.

West End Tavern Cuties

Pooks' New 'do

Short and red. If you live in Boulder and want great color and cut on the cheap, my neighbor (licensed) does it from her home. You lean over her bathroom sink to get your hair washed but the quality and price are incomparable. Let me know and I'll give you her email.

20 Year Storm Leaves Europe Snowbound

It looks like our flight will be canceled for weather so we are proactively rescheduling for Wednesday. This is probably a good thing because Chicago has nasty weather tomorrow and was likely to get us stuck. So we will come back on Wednesday instead, hopefully avoiding getting stuck on planes and having our bags lost.

The Super Bowl Comes to Belgium

It's on BBC1 tonight... starting at Midnight. Jon and I are debating whether or not to stay up for it. Today we were able to watch Neils Albert crush the Cyclocross World Championships, which seriously makes up for his crying at Belgian Nats. But, anyway, should we make it a double header? It may require a trip to the nacht winkel for provisions.
