Leah and Axel are Both Otters!

Just before heading out to Monterey for the Otter Open Disc Golf Tournament, Axel received his acceptance letter to the Computer Science program at CSU Monterey Bay, the program Leah just graduated from in December. Two otters in the family and I could not be more proud.

My two otters with the mascot, Monty Rey.

We got a little crazy at the student union store.

On our way to Monterey we stayed, night one, in San Juan Bautista. The Hacienda de Leal is a great hotel with a magical olive orchard courtyard. 10/10 would recommend.

The oldsters in the orchard.

The acceptance package came with social media props, naturally, which we tested out in the orchard.

At lunchtime the next day we visited the old mission.

The cute gen x'rs.

Axel glad to be on the right side of the bars.

Once in Monterey we were able to visit a bunch with Leah. One very fun excursion was to a soft opening of Tipsy Putt, a mini golf bar in Cannery Row. So much fun and all free compliments of Leah's roommate's cousin's girlfriend, who is in marketing for the company. I highly recommend any Tipsy Putt franchise. Mini golf inside a bar? Excellent.

The photo booth was free for the night and the youngsters went to town on it. A sampling of the cuties:

Our AirBnB had a cat named Miso who prowled the backyard. Axel plans to some park on this street with smoked salmon and visit Miso once he permanently moves to Monterey,

The AirBnB also had a jigsaw puzzle of the Bixby Bridge, which inspired Axel and I to go see for ourselves.

More Axel with Miso.

Me, about to throw my cheshire cat disc, dyed by my new Reno friend, Deona. It was warm in February at the CSUMB Oaks disc golf course.

Axel, finding his zen on his new college campus.
