Marriage, that blessed arrangement

On September 21st we traveled from Spokane to Sandpoint, Idaho for the marriage of my cousin, Anna, to this really nice guy named JT. Included in their vows were solemn promises always give awesome high fives. I am also a fan of high fives so I really enjoyed this part.
Here are the cute kiddos the night before their wedding.

Speaking of cute kiddos this is my dad (left) and his large collection of siblings. Mother of the Bride (my Aunt Barbara) is the one in blue.

The ceremony was located along the beautiful Pend D'Oreille. I did not take many pictures at the ceremony, preferring to soak in the proceedings sans smartphone.

That said, I did sneak in one selfie with Axel before the start. My lovely Aunt Consie is an accidental photo bomber.

At the reception, the cutest thing happened. My cousin, Arthur, taught Axel how to tie all sorts of different tie knots. Arthur is a reliable source of fancy men's clothing techniques having completed an internship at Bank of America in Manhattan this summer. They liked him so much that they offered him a job in their investment division (Merrill Lynch) after he graduates!

The Monday after, many of the remaining aunts and uncles came over to Aunt Barbara and Uncle Bob's place to watch the debate. I watched the doggy, Tanna, instead. She was cuter and calmer than Trump- and with more emotional intelligence.

Me drinking wine and laughing instead of watching the debate and getting depressed.

After the nuptial events were over, Jon, Axel, and I explored Sandpoint. We did a lot of walking. These signs are posted at major entrances to town. People constantly stopped their vehicles to let us cross the street. Sandpoint is a friendly, progressive town peppered with down-to-earth Idaho sensibilities.

We went to the town of Bayview on Wednesday. Really cool water houses there.

Bayview also boasted some nice pool tables. Axel keeps getting better- watch out Dad!

We found this cute arts and crafts place in the back of the Cedar Bridge mall in Sandpoint. It is an old covered bridge converted to a place for shopping.

There were some great antique stores for shopping as well. I found this cheese box at one of them and, since I am a cheese-loving Borden, I could not resist.

Finally, we LOVED Sandpoint Disc Golf. Picture a beautiful forest, well groomed paths from tee to tee, excellent signage, and tough/tight fairways and you get Baldfoot Disc Golf Course. It is just minutes from town. We went to their Friday night doubles and Axel and Jon got paired up... then they took the win! Pictured above is the scene at the Baldfoot "clubhouse". The previous week's winner buys a cooler full of beer to share :) Jon and Axel donated to the beer fund since they won but were leaving town the next day.

The big winners enjoying the epic sunset.

Family disc golf selfie!

Next stop is one night at the Ginko Forest Winery in Mattawa, Washington. It is a Harvest Hosts spot which means we stay for free. We should get there today in time for a tasting.
